Essential safety measures

The current Building Legislation requires building owners to maintain all essential safety measures associated with commercial, public, industrial and residential buildings.

The maintenance of essential safety measures requires contractors to be engaged to inspect the essential safety measures as per the frequency nominated on the schedule forming part of the Occupancy Permit.  For buildings pre 1994 a maintenance determination can be completed by a registered Building Surveyor nominating the essential safety measures.

At C & M Building Surveyor we understand the requirements under the legislation and offer a wide range of services to help the owner’s with their statutory obligations.

• Site inspection to determine applicable essential safety measures requiring maintenance and providing maintenance determination.
• Preparation of site specific logbook for contractors.
  
• Prepare annual sign off.
• Undertake annual passive inspections.
